Wilhelmsburg - Elbinsel Museum
During the afternoon of August 12th
I have been a friend of this museum on Facebook for over a year. It is part of our family history, I could imagine Friedrich Bode and his daughter Dorothea visiting the place....
My contact was Peter Beenk, the museum's librarian , who asked me to meet him at 4:00 PM.
I still had time to stroll through the adjecent cemetery, I sat down at a grave thinking of the people buried here, who may have been friends with my ancestors.
For years I have been thinking of the Napoleonic troups that invaded Germany and changed history dramtically for so many people... I was intrigued to learn more about Wilhelmsburg and its history. Click here
